Yousician bass works with any real 4-string bass, be it acoustic, electric or electroacoustic, in standard tuning.
When using an acoustic bass, simply place your device in a comfortable place and the microphone of your device will pick up the sounds you produce.
When a built in microphone of a device is used, there is no need for a special adapter, cable or a microphone, as the microphone on the device will recognize what you play. You can, if you choose to, use an adapter like iRig (mobile) or a 1/4" to USB cable (desktop). These can help the game to recognize the sound, particularly when using an electric instrument.
Instructions for setting up an electric or electroacoustic bass are given below. Setup instructions for iOS and Android devices can be found here.
- Plug your bass in.
- After you plug in using a USB adapter, you need to change the input device (you can change it in Game settings)
If your audio input device does not show up in the game settings menu, please check the "Audio MIDI setup" if using a Mac. Please also make sure to turn some volume to the bass. You can see if it works by observing the MIC / VU meter while playing the bass (in the tuner screen).
When your bass is plugged in, please adjust the Mixer feature from the in song Pause menu to hear yourself play.
